Somerville Parks and Rec Teen Programs and Kids Test Kitchen are partnering up to offer this FREE 6-week cooking class for teens! Each week teens will get a chance to learn cooking skills, and make a new recipe (and yes, you get to eat it afterwards)! We will also be mindful of any allergies that we have in class!
One of the goals of our Teen Programming is to teach our teens life skills, so we are so excited to be able to offering cooking classes!
This course will run from March 4-April 8, at 850 Broadway (Powderhouse Teen Space), Mondays 6:00-7:00 pm. Only 12 spots, so please sign up only if you can attend most of the classes! Sign up now!
About Kids Test Kitchen:
On a mission to get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! We present kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned! Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own. Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes. Yes – join us again! Each scheduled series of classes offers fresh new recipes to prepare and explore! Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun.
